Premium Access
What is Premium Access?
Premium Access is a paid subscription to Fluent News that removes ads from the article lists (but not the articles themselves), that allows users to create unlimited custom sections based on keyword searches and that lets users promote and disable as many newspaper sources as they wish. User can purchase 1-month or 3-month subscriptions.
Do I need Premium Access to filter sources?
Fluent News allows all users to promote one news source and to disable one news source. If you wish to promote or disable more than one newspaper, you need to purchase Premium Access.
What happens to my Premium Access if I delete my app?
Beginning with Fluent News Version 1.5, if you accidentally delete and reinstall your app, your premium access will be restored, but only on the device on which you originally downloaded the app. If you acquire a new device, you need to purchase a separate subscription. As always, installing updates will not affect your Premium Access.
How do I create Custom Sections?
Fluent News allows you to create up to three custom sections based on keyword searches. Upgrading to Premium Access lets you create unlimited custom sections. To create a section, first click on the Search tab at the bottom of Fluent News. Then, enter some keywords that you are interested in. Click "Search". After the results are returned, click on the button that appears in the upper right corner of the app. Then from the options that appear, select "Create Custom Section". Your custom section will appear in the Sections tab with the default Fluent News sections. And it will get updated automatically with the same frequency as those sections.
What happens to my Premium Access when I install an update?
Installing updates does not affect Premium Access.
Sources
Can I control which sources I want to view?
Yes. Version 1.4 and later allow the user to disable one news source and to promote one news source. When you promote a news source, you will see more articles from that source in the section article lists. For unlimited source filtering, you can purchase Premium Access from the settings tab within the app.
Will you be adding more sources?
Yes, we will continue to add sources that satisfy our requirements.
How do you choose to include a news source?
A source must meet several criteria to be included in the Fluent News applications. First and foremost, it must have mobile-ready content. We do not reformat the articles we display; our goal is to connect you to premium mobile content that's already out there and to layer valuable services (like search, save and sharing) on top of that content.
After that, sources are chosen algorithmically, based on relevancy and other proprietary characteristics.
Technical Issues
Why don't CNN articles work?
Unfortunately CNN does not provide access to the same news around the world and the links we include in Fluent News are for the US version of CNN. If you are location outside of the United States, we suggest that you filter CNN articles out of the application from the settings tab.
